Canada's inaugural Living Wage first-aid provider
Elite Security and First Aid, based in Victoria, is the only First Aid provider in Canada to signify its commitment to ending working poverty, by paying all its staff and contracted workers a Living Wage
"Elite Security & First Aid Services started as a worker built company with the goal of improving industry standards of service and wages. We are grateful to lead the way today in raising the bar for employment in our field. As cliche as it is, we are a rather close group of like minded folks. And paying living wage makes people happy too! Once clients get to see us in action they appreciate the smiles as much as the customers do." Care Serene, Elite Security + First Aid.
Certifying as a Living Wage Employer is a voluntary commitment employers make to invest in their communities and local economies. There are over 250 Living Wage Employers in BC, with over 25,000 employees who don’t need to worry about how they will afford rent, food and other essentials for their family because they are guaranteed to earn a Living Wage.
“Many workers in the security and first aid industry are risking their lives to keep us safe during the pandemic and beyond. It is vital that in return they earn a living wage in order to be able to pay for essentials for their family. We’re delighted that Elite Security and First Aid has certified as a Living Wage Employer. Paying a Living Wage is good for the employer, the employee and the local community. We invite security and first aid providers to join the Living Wage movement,” said Anastasia French, Living Wage for Families Campaign Organizer.
