They are a full-service hazardous materials abatement contractor based in Langley BC. They have been a Living Wage Employer since 2017.

They have 80 staff with over 100 years of industry experience. Their team removes and disposes of asbestos and lead-containing materials for the construction industry. Proactive Hazmat also do work for healthcare facilities, restoration contractors, cities and municipalities, property management firms, education facilities, and leading consulting groups.

Proactive Hazmat have found that although it cost more upfront to become a Living Wage Employer, this has balanced out due to the lower staff turnover. Since becoming a Living Wage Employer, they’ve managed to retain and attract many good quality workers, it’s made their workplace a much better environment.
